Patient with unintentional (no concern for self harm) medication overdose or intoxication
Poison Control has been consulted and recommend period of observation / monitoring
Stable Vital Signs
Stable mental status, some mild sedation ok (RAAS -2 or greater)
Normal functional status
Significant ECG abnormalities
Decreased mental status
Significant lab abnormalities
Abnormal or unstable vitals
Cardiac monitoring
ECG and/or Labs as recommended by poison control
EtCO2 if warranted
Drug levels if indicated
Regular Diet
Disposition
Observation period recommended by Poison Control completed
Clinical Sobriety / Able to Navigate the Community
Plan to avoid future ingestions in place
Unstable vital signs or worsening clinical condition
Significant lab or imaging abnormalities
Patient unable to take PO medications or able to safely care for self in home environment.
Patient unable to ambulate
