Angioedema
Angioedema isolated to the lips and or face or GI tract
Normal / Stable Vital Signs
No stridor, voice changes
Voice changes, shortness of breath stridor
Significant tongue, uvula, palatal or pharyngeal involvement (likely ICU)
New Hypoxia
Cardiac and pulse ox monitoring
Cetirizine 20 mg BID
Prednisone 60 mg daily
Can consider IV Tranexamic Acid 1000 mg
Q2h symptom check
Disposition
Unequivocal Improvement in severity of symptoms
No evolution to more generalized allergic reaction
IF ACE induced, then allergy added to chart.
Unstable vital signs or worsening clinical condition
Significant lab or imaging abnormalities
Patient unable to take PO medications or able to safely care for self in home environment.
Patient unable to ambulate
