Details of the respite referral protocol are under development as the criteria for the Stout St. Recuperative Care center have been in Flux.  

However - there are a few core criteria that are unchanged:

1. Patients must have an acute medical need 

2. Patients must be able to complete all activities of daily living independently (e.g. transferring, toileting, eating) 

3. Patients must be able to manage their own medications

For now, you if your patient meets ALL of the above criteria, you may place Respite Referral Patients in the CDU under the "Failure to Thrive / Limited Care Management"
